Easy Rider Trainer · Effective October 24, 2026
In short: Easy Rider Trainer doesn't collect your data. We have no servers and no accounts. The app has no advertising, analytics or tracking. Your rides, workouts and settings stay on your devices and in your own iCloud account. Data only leaves them when you choose to send it, for example to Apple Health or intervals.icu.
This policy explains what information Easy Rider Trainer (the "app") handles on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch, and how. The app is made by HomebrewBytes LLC ("we", "us").
Information we collect
None. We don't operate servers for the app and don't receive any of your personal information, ride data, health data or usage data. We don't sell, rent or share personal information, because we don't have any.
Information the app stores on your devices
To work, the app keeps the following on your device:
- Rides you finish: time, power, heart rate, cadence, speed, distance, energy and heart-rate zones.
- Custom workouts you create.
- Your training settings: FTP and its history, age or maximum heart rate for heart-rate zones, units, ride-screen layouts, and controller button settings.
- The Bluetooth devices you've paired, so they reconnect automatically.
- How much of the free trial you've used. This is kept in the device Keychain and your iCloud, so reinstalling the app doesn't reset the trial.
If iCloud is turned on for your Apple Account, this information is synced through your own iCloud so it's available on all your devices. Apple provides and secures iCloud, and Apple's privacy policy applies to it. We can't access your iCloud data.
Bluetooth
The app uses Bluetooth to connect directly to devices you own, such as smart trainers, heart-rate monitors and handlebar controllers. It reads their live readings (power, cadence, speed, heart rate and button presses) and sends commands to the trainer. This data is used during your ride and saved only as part of your ride history on your device.
Apple Health
If you turn on Apple Health in Settings, the app saves finished rides to Apple Health as indoor cycling workouts. Each workout includes energy, distance, heart rate, cycling power and cadence. The app only writes to Apple Health and never reads from it. Health data is never used for advertising, never shared with third parties, and never leaves your device except through Apple's own Health sync. You can change or remove access at any time in the Health app or in Settings › Privacy & Security › Health.
Apple Watch
The Apple Watch app shows your ride and can measure your heart rate during a ride. Heart rate is sent directly from your watch to the app on your paired iPhone. The watch's workout session isn't saved; your iPhone saves the complete ride.
intervals.icu (optional)
You can connect the app to your own intervals.icu account by entering your intervals.icu API key. The key is stored in your device's Keychain and isn't synced. When you upload a ride, either manually or with automatic upload turned on, the app sends that ride as a FIT file directly to intervals.icu over an encrypted connection. Nothing is sent to intervals.icu unless you set this up. What intervals.icu does with your data is governed by its own privacy policy. To stop, delete the API key in Settings.
Exports and sharing
When you export a ride (FIT or TCX file) or share a workout (image or PDF), the file goes only where you choose in the share sheet.
Purchases
Purchases and subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. The app only receives confirmation of what you've bought, so it can unlock Easy Rider Pro. We don't receive your name, payment details or Apple Account information. Apple's privacy policy applies to purchases.
No advertising, analytics or tracking
The app has no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking software. It doesn't track you across other apps or websites, and doesn't use your data to build profiles.
Deleting your data
- A ride: swipe to delete it in History, or use Edit.
- A custom workout: delete it in Workouts.
- Everything on a device: delete the app.
- Synced data in iCloud: go to Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Storage and remove the app's data.
- Health data: delete it in the Health app.
- intervals.icu: remove your API key in Settings. Rides already uploaded are managed in your intervals.icu account.
Children
The app is a general fitness app and isn't directed at children under 13. Because we don't collect personal information from anyone, we don't knowingly collect any from children.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, privacy laws such as the GDPR or CCPA may give you rights over your personal data, including access, correction and deletion. Because the data stays on your devices and in your own iCloud, you can use these rights directly as described above. If you have questions, contact us.
Security
Data is stored using Apple's built-in protections: device encryption, the Keychain for sensitive items like your intervals.icu key, and iCloud's encryption. Data sent to intervals.icu uses HTTPS.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update it on this page and change the effective date above. If a change affects how your data is handled, we'll also mention it in the app's release notes.
